Pandemic Pilgrim

Papa’s Camino

My father’s passing has kicked the life out of me. He was my biggest fan, always encouraging me to explore and to press on. I had scheduled this short walk months ago, not knowing that he would pass just a week before I left.

I’m flying into Madrid with a connection to La Coruña. A day there and then onto Ferrol to begin the journey. It’s going to be a long day (28 hours of travel). But I anticipate a place on the beach tomorrow night to watch the sunset.

Sometimes we think we know what and where we’re going…and then life says, “hey-wait.” I now know what to pray and meditate about: memories of Papa.
