Searching for Solstice

Searching for Solstice

Southeast Alaska is like an adolescent girl: undecided on what she will be. Are we North, with the lock-down cold, or are we emotionally distraught (like Seattle), always teary, weeping rain. At any rate, sundown comes at 3:15 p.m. and a heavy weight sits on me as I walk home from the post office. Winter. Darkness. Waiting for Solstice.
